Biography
- I was born in a little town in the south of Chihuahua state in Mexico, called Parral, one of the oldest cities in the country founded by the Spaniards back in 1631, It is located driving 6 hours south the border. I enjoy playing soccer, going to the gym, reading, traveling, and trying new things.
- Academic background: I hold an B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and a PhD in Project Management.
- Experience: I worked nearly 10 years in the oil industry as Field Engineer, Tech Support Engineer and Project Manager for Schlumberger and Baker Hughes, specifically in drilling operations, working in projects in different countries, for Oil companies such as Shell, Saudi Aramco, Petrobras, British Petroleum, ENI and others. After that I Worked 6 years as Academic Chairman/Professor at the Economics Faculty of Chihuahua's State University (UACH) in Mexico. Hereupon I started working here at WNMU (2021). I also have started and own several businesses throughout my life, some of them are still on operations.

Henry earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Campbell University, a Certificate in Accounting from Prince George’s Community College, his Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley University and his Master of Accountancy degree from Stetson University. He holds a Ph.D. in Advanced Accounting from Northcentral University.
Dr. Singletary brings a wealth of business and accounting experience to the classroom. Before his time at WNMU, he served as the Director of the master’s in accountancy at his previous job for 5 years in Virginia. He also served at the University of Mount Olive as an Assistant Professor of Accounting for seven years, including three years as the Department Chair of Accounting and Finance. Dr. Singletary owned his own CPA business and served as the CPA for his family medical billing service, which was in Southern Maryland until 2017. Before owning his own business, he was a Branch Manager and Bank Officer at a local bank for five years. In his first job out of college, he served as an assistant manager at a retail store for eighteen months. In addition to holding a Certified Public Accountant license, he previously held an IRS Enrolled Agent Card, a Real Estate Salesperson license and Series 6 Investment License while working in Maryland. He also served as a Board Member at Grace Christian School and was a member of the Blue-Ribbon Diversity Commission in Charles County, Maryland. He also served as an Assistant Golf Coach and Baseball Coach at Grace Christian School as well as a chess teacher and league coordinator for the Prince George’s County Public Schools and Public Libraries. He also served in the past as an Elder at his church. In addition to his duties as a professor, he served as the sponsor of the Accounting Club, Chess Club, and IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at his previous university. Dr. Singletary’s dissertation and research interest are in the area of ethics in accounting and taxation. Dr. Singletary has four grown children and one grandchild.
He holds memberships in the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA)Contact Information
