Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Business is to provide a learning environment that provides diverse opportunities for experiential development of all interested stakeholders.
Student and Stakeholder Focus
Business programs must have a systematic procedure to determine requirements and expectations of current and future students and stakeholders, including how the business programs enhances relationships with students and stakeholders and determines their satisfaction. Stakeholders may include parents, employers, alumni, donors, other schools, communities, etc.
Advisory Board Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend at least one meeting per semester (one in Fall and one in Spring);
- Provide feedback to School of Business as requested by the School of Business;
- Attend School of Business activities when possible;
- Assist the School of Business and WNMU with network/fundraising growth;
- Allow student mutually agreed upon site visits/interviews when convenient.
Advising Procedures
Purpose
To promote and enhance WNMU School of Business efforts within the scope of aligning student discipline related knowledge and predominant soft skills required by 21st Century Employers including:
- Discipline related knowledge: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing.
- Predominant Soft Skills: Communication, Information Literacy, Critical Thinking, Writing, Qualitative Analysis, Ethics/Social Responsibility, Teamwork and Leadership.
School of Business Advising Activities & Processes
- Review and offer feedback on course syllabi upon request;
- Attend classes and offer feedback as requested and scheduled;
- Review and offer feedback on ASBSP accreditation information and processes as requested;
- Attend and offer feedback on student and/or faculty club, organization, and/or departmental activities (Delta Mu Delta and Marketing Club, etc) as requested;
- Other advising activities as agreed upon (Board, Dean and Faculty).
