WNMU Opens Student Business Accelerator Site

“To excite and empower young entrepreneurs, Western New Mexico University’s School of Business became a Studio G site under New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center and is now helping local businesses start and grow. The virtual space for student entrepreneurs is meant to rear small business and support ventures in this area, where resources are scarce, and to drive economic growth in an increasingly poor community”.

-Dr. Miguel Vicens, Associate Dean of the School of Business

WNMU Student Interns at NASA

WNMU – Western New Mexico University biology student Nicolas Farley interned with the NASA Earth Science Division.

“Farley 3D-printed his prototypes using 3D design skills he honed at the Future Forge makerspace, which he co-founded, alongside his brother and fellow WNMU student Stephen Lindsey, with guidance received through the WNMU Studio G business incubator site”.

WNMU Student Becomes a Studio G Client To Expand Family’s Farming Operation

WNMU dual enrollment student McKenzie Rose Luna became an early Studio G client in the summer of 2018. As a junior in high school in Truth or Consequences, McKenzie’s business idea was a logical expansion of her family’s farming operation.

“I realized that my pig breeding dreams were a lot more attainable than I previously thought. […] I am officially a local pig farmer! Again, I just wanted to say thank you for helping me get where I am today”

-McKenzie Rose Luna
